Location

Situated in Agia Anna, a quaint village in Larnaca district, it is an oasis of serenity, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and crowds. Whether you are looking for Beaches, Historical sites, Museums, Nice cafes, Restaurants or even breathe some fresh mountain air, all roads lead to Agia Anna. A mere 10 minutes from Larnaca Airport and city centre, 20 minutes from Nicosia and 40 minutes from Limassol and Agia Napa in the other direction, Bougainvillea Guesthouse is at the heart of Cyprus. A stone’s throw away from many of the archaeological sites and nooks and crannies of Cyprus.

In and around Larnaca, you can easily reach Kition archaeological site, Choirokitia, The Finikoudes promenade, The Hala Sultan Tekke mosque, after which you can hop over to Makenzy beach for some relaxing sunbathing. Agia Napa is home to some of Cyprus’ most beautiful beaches of Makronissos and Konos bays, as well as little gems like the Agioi Saranta church. Fancy a change of scenery? No problem! Troodos Mountain, Cyprus’ highest point, The Kaledonian waterfall and a variety of treks sit atop of the island with a bird’s eye view, with charming traditional villages like crafty Lefkara nearby.

Start from Limassol, enjoying a promenade in the harbour or walk the pedestrian coastal path, stopover at the Ancient Kourion archaeological site and drive through the sinewy roads up through the winery routes and villages in the hills surrounding Troodos. Enjoy a day trip to Paphos, perhaps one of the furthest points but just an hour and a half away, has some beautiful picturesque stops and archaeological sites that are well worth a visit. Also home to the small paradise natural reserve of Akamas peninsula, a bit further away still off the beaten track, with crystal blue waters and Lara Turtle beach where endangered Green and Loggerhead turtles breed in the summer months. In Nicosia, the island’s capital, enjoy a walk through time in the old city centre with its historical architecture beautifully intact, with a hop over to the green zone across the other side of the border, bustling with markets, shopping and food aplenty.

Car Rental

To take in all of Cyprus, renting a car is a must and the best way to get around and have some nice drives. You can find some good deals on car rentals and we are happy to assist you. Eating out

Bougainvillea is walking distance from the two lovely local village tavernas, offering traditional food, drink and entertainment for an authentic Cypriot dining experience. Only 10 minutes’ drive from Larnaca, you can enjoy traditional Cypriot dishes, Lebanese food, sushi, one of the best Japanese restaurants on the island, or you can opt for fish tavernas in the old Larnaca sea port serving freshly caught fish while enjoying the sea breeze. Nicosia’s old city centre is buzzing with life and food, and caters to all tastes, perfect for an evening out. Reputable fish tavernas in Ziggy and Liopetri are also within a 30 minute drive.

Very large with a living area and bedroom area and terrace overlooking the garden. The garden area is very pleasant full of beautiful trees and cute friendly cats.We also had the best breakfast we had in Cyprus fruits local cheese toast Greek yogurt coffee ect.Joanne is also a very warm friendly person who has a very interesting and intrigueing background. We stayed a week at the Bougainvillea Guesthouse, and it is simply a little paradise. The... host, Joanne, was so kind and welcoming, and she made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was beautiful and spacious, and Joanne prepared the most delicious breakfast for us every morning. Even though we were planning for a lot more sightseeing, we ended up spending several days just relaxing by the pool and enjoying the beautiful garden. I can highly recommend the Bougainvillea Guesthouse, it was everything we could ever hope for, and if we return to Cyprus, this is definitely where we will be staying.read more

Exceptional place! A beautifull guesthouse in a nice, quiet village with couple of... restaurants to eat in. Perfect location with a short drive from the Larnaka airport. You can easily reach the coast, but it is still far enough from the very touristic areas. Joanne was so nice and helpfull and we enjoyed the amazing breakfast she made every morning. Our room was extremely comfortable and we also enjoyed relaxing by the pool in the beautifull garden. If you have a chance to stay here, do it! We are already looking forward of coming back in the future.read more

We stayed at the Bougainvillea bed & breakfast for a week and we couldn’t have hoped for... a better accommodation! From the very first sight of the house you'll know you've picked the right place to stay. The house itself is absolutely gorgeous with a warm and cozy atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, well maintained and equipped and it really is the perfect place to stay if you're hoping to have a relaxing holiday. Staying at the Bougainvillea you’ll also get to experience a local Cypriot village, while having a great home base for exploring the island. However, the part of our stay we will remember most vividly is the owner Joanne. She's a wonderful and fascinating lady who radiates the house full of welcoming energy. We would often spend hours catching up with her over coffee after breakfast, which was definitely the most memorable part of our stay at the Bougainvillea. Joanne was more than happy to help us with everything - whether it was giving us amazing tips for restaurants and places to visit or cooking us a beautiful breakfast.Overall, we would give the place the maximum amount of stars and a few extra, and can only recommend staying at the Bougainvillea. We know where we’ll return if we ever are back in Cyprus!read more

One of the most amazing vacation we had. The village of Agia Anna is picturesque, quiet... and friendly. Surroundings extremely beautiful with hilly landscapes, flower meadows, citrus trees and small roads between farms that still have livestock and shepherds. Close to beautiful and culturally interesting destinations. The beaches can be reached within half an hour by car. The best thing about staying at the beautiful Bougainvillea Guest House is the hostess, Joanna. With her discreet charm, she ensures that we always have what we need. Wonderful breakfast with everything you could wish for, help with your car rental, tips on sightseeing and shopping. In particular, Joanna shares her empathy in long interesting conversations. But no more than what feels comfortable. For the most part, she leaves the guests to enjoy the house, the garden and the pool on their own. Here we will returnCaroline and Johanread more
